The Alexandra Birthing Centre (ABC) is an integrated self contained unit within Watford General Maternity Unit. We opened on 2 April 2001 and have 6 en suite rooms (with a further 2 being built as we write), a pool room and sensory room for women to enjoy.
We are totally midwifery led and offer an alternative to low risk women in the Hertfordshire area. To date we have had 538 births with 148 waterbirths. We encourage appropriate alternative therapies and have a midwife reflexologist on staff.
